Q:
i’m experiencing some problems with zyxel modems.
I’m in Italy and I’m using actfax 4.05.
The last problem it is driving me crazy.. 2 Zyx U-336S won’t answer to incoming fax, from modem protocol i read Ring, but also setting to answ to 1 ring have no effect.. any idea ?
Zyx U1496plus answer to incoming calls, but has many problem with CID, so i want to try the 336S, but with hyperterminal they seems to have the same problems.
Anyone was capable to make CID working with them ?
i use U.S. Robotics 56K Message on other line, and, while it normally works and recod CID (CND) sometimes remains locked and there is no way, than powering off, to make it work again, act try to reset it, but no success, so i have to go in my server room and switch off…
Zyx hasn’t this problem…
A:
You can view the modem protocol when you click on the modem icon on the fax server (i.e. Modem on COM01) and change to the Modem Protocol tab there. To receive faxes, you just need to take care that the options ‘Enable Incoming Calls (Receive)’ and ‘Answer incoming calls after x rings’ are enabled in the menu Communication / Modem / Modify on the fax server. Normally, when the modem sends a RING signal, the fax server should answer the call, so I want to check what the modem sends when there is an incoming call reported by the modem.
