Moving the fax title to the bottom of the page is not possible; it would only be possible to change the margins for the fax title at the top of the page, i.e. to move the fax title a bit up or down.

Is the a way to modify the Logo in the Fax Title?

If you mean the ActiveFax logo you can activate in the menu Extras / Options / Fax Title, this logo cannot be changed. You can just disable it (it’s normally disabled by default).

Q:
Does ActiveFax 4.18 provide a means to add floating annotations to inbound faxes? I’m looking for a faxing solution that will allow an inbound fax to be sequentially routed to several stations, with each station adding text. The text would need to “float” and be updateable by each station.

A:
It would be possible to enter individual text in 3 free text fields in the More Settings tab of a fax when you double-click on a faxlist entry. As an alternative it would also be possible to write the text to the cover page
text field when adding a cover page to the message or it would also be possible to add text comments directly to the fax document with the menu View / Insert text into fax message. Such texts can be added or
modified by any station that has the permission to view the fax.

10 DIGIT DIALING is MANDATORY for ALL calls within Connecticut on November 14th
With the rapid growth of cell phones, Internet connections, ATMs, alarms and other devices, Connecticut is running out of telephone numbers! To make more numbers available, the state Department of Public Utility Control is adding 2 new area codes: 475 and 959. This means that you will soon have to dial 10 (ten) digits for all calls within Connecticut, even local calls. Local numbers will need just the 203 and long distance numbers will need 1 203.
Our question to you is: how do we prepare activefax for this change? Can activefax handle this change? Do we have to change the settings, if so how do we go about doing this? Please advise.

A:
I recommend to configure individual dialing rules for all numbers in that case, since this is the most flexible way to handle this. To do so, I would recommend using the following configuration:

Remove the local area code in the menu Communication / Modem and also all area codes in the menu Communication / Modem / Dialing Properties. The settings for the Dialing Properties should be configured as in the attached screenshot.

Then add the following dialing rules in the menu Communication / Modem / Dialing Properties / Options / Dialing Rules (remove any existing dialing rules before):

This dialing rule dials all numbers as long distance calls by default
???-???-???? should be dialed as 1-???-???-????

For each type of number that should be dialed as a local call without
dialing the area code, add the following dialing rule:
123-???-???? should be dialed as ???-????

For each type of number that should be dialed as a local call
including the area code, add the following dialing rule:
123-???-???? should be dialed as ???-???-????

Example:
???-???-???? = 1-???-???-????
203-1??-???? = 203-???-????
203-555-???? = 203-???-????

To check which number the modem dialed, go to the menu Extras / Transmission Protocol and scroll to the right to the field “Dialed Number”. This field shows the fax number exactly as dialed by the modem or fax board.

I currenly use winfax on windows xp to send invoices from (Sage) Peachtree accounting to various customers.I fax from the Peachtree program to the fax.Would GFI work on windows 7 from the same Peachtree software? Please let me know before I purchase your product.

A:
I do not know that Peachtree software in detail, but in general, you can send faxes from any application you can print from. This means that you just need to print the invoices to the ActiveFax printer to send them by fax. Windows 7 is already supported by ActiveFax.

Q:
How do we get notification of failed faxes or e-mail for a user? And is there data field for this?

A:
It would be possible to automatically create notification emails with the menu Extras / User Administrator / Modify / Notification. If you just want to get an email for failed faxes, you also need to enable the option “Send email notification only for undeliverable faxes” in the menu Extras / Options / General / Extended Options on the fax server. Take care to also configure the address of your mail server in the menu Communication / E-Mail.

Is there any way to send a fax from outlook?

Sending faxes from Outlook is not possible. You always need to print the documents to be faxed using the ActiveFax printer.

i want to modify the quantity of call repetitions because, i am limited to 3 deliveries. But, when i go to outils options tentative d’appel (call repetition), the other repetitions after 3 are not activated. can you help me please ?

When you enter a delay of 0 hours and 0 minutes for an attempt, the fax server is not doing any further attempts, so for example when you just want to do 3 retries, enter a delay of 0 hours and 0 minutes for
the third attempt. After the 3rd unsuccessful retry, the status of the fax changes to Undeliverable then.

We would like to automatically fax customer account statements, invoices, order acknowledgements (plus standard terms) and PO’s (plus standard terms) for our Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 system. Does ActiveFax integrate with GP?

A:
In general, you can use ActiveFax with any application you can print from. Just print the documents to be faxed to the ActiveFax printer in that case. If you want to do this fully automatically, you also need to add codes (data fields) with the recipients fax number directly to the document. You can find an example for that in the Word document at Program Files\ActiveFax\Server\Sample.doc.

Q:
When creating a new fax document from within the activefax client everything is working fine but when trying to use the virtual printer driver the sending mask pops up but you can’t enter anything in it. The mouse cursor is stuck with the hourglass when it’s over the mask. If you kill the task (and that’s the only thing that you can do from there) it also crashes the print queue service of windows.

A:
I recommend to enable the option for terminal server extension in the menu File / Automatic Startup / Terminal Server on the fax client, since the fax dialog window is not displayed directly by the
printer driver in that case. Take care to once log off from Windows when you change that option.
